In 2008, I started designing and building contemporary console and end tables, in a style that I had been thinking about for years. I mounted the legs on the table edges, instead of on the corners, and used natural cypress pieces as the stretcher between the legs.
After I had built several tables, I started doing art marker drawings, acrylic paintings and making sculptures with found objects. I had an idea for a levitating lunch thermos, pouring out toys on to a table, which eventually became the Childhood sculpture, seen on the Sculpture and Tables page. The beer pour sculptures then evolved, using a similar building technique as Childhood.
I also developed a style of painting on plywood and solid wood, in which the final image was determined by the wood grain itself. There are a few examples above on the home page. I used the technique on the front of an oak bar that I built, which turned out really cool.
Many of the paintings I have done over the years were gifts for the children in the family and other friends, incorporating their name and interests.
